In our first year as a 501c3, we moved quick, giving families what they asked for:

PRACTICAL SUPPORT FROM PEOPLE WHO “GET IT“

We combined strategies of storytelling + neighborly volunteering.

The idea is simple: match one foster family with one (trained & vetted) Foster Neighbor to bring a meal once a month.

We created Foster Neighbors, matching 60 volunteers around Colorado to support foster families as they help a child heal from abuse and neglect.

Our year-end podcast:

Will you please join us for 2019, as we:

  • Match every single foster family in several cities with Foster Neighbors

  • Create fresh podcasts and video series to make foster care impossible to ignore

  • Train teams to replicate our model in other states

OUR 2018 STATS

  • 35% of our volunteers serve single moms or single foster moms.

  • 95% of our matches continue to this day, some in their 14th consecutive month with the same family.

  • Foster parents report they feel more supported to continue fostering, building their endurance to help traumatized children.

  • Volunteers personally connect with foster care, something they previously felt too busy to do.

  • Foster families and people curious about foster care both report feeling more equipped to stay or get involved, thanks to our podcast.
